The client
With offices around the world, Royalty Range is a database provider with four professional databases, covering private company financials and ownership information, royalty rates, loan interest rates, and service fees. Their data is used by multinational enterprises, global consulting companies, international law firms, and tax authorities in more than 70 countries.
The project
With our background in complex financial topics, Royalty Range came to us looking for a hand with their site content. They didn’t have a content team established in-house, so they wanted someone who could plug in and get to work - collaborating seamlessly with existing staff. Their primary goals were to establish a content hub, provide in-depth resources for customers, and improve organic search results.
What they needed was not something many content studios can offer. Their niche requires an understanding of transfer pricing definitions, valuation methods, crossborder taxation, and various regulations. On top of this, content must be written with journalistic integrity for a highly knowledgeable audience.
The work
We like to know our clients inside and out, so our first step was to sit down with the Marketing and SEO managers. Then - with a better understanding of the brand, customer personas, and objectives - we could get to work on research and idea generation for blog content.
Because the subject matter is so complex, our process involved sending the client team an outline of each proposed article, including a suggested structure and a summary of each section. We link to sources where appropriate and flag where we’d like to include a quote from an internal expert. Our posts have covered everything from how to value intangible goods, to calculating arm’s-length prices, to transfer pricing regulations in different jurisdictions.
